On naming and updates

By larsbergstrom

I was recently informed that the name WiFinder is a name still in use by another company. Anybody got great ideas for other names? Most of the obvious cool and fun ones were also used during the dot-com-bubble, and I’m loathe to run into this problem again :-)

BTW, check out the awesome icon work that Serge from LemonMedia did for the program! It’s been in submission for over a month and a half, but hey, that’s Apple for you, and this is Pretty Dangerous Stuff. WiFinderNewIcon

Very Nice App, Lars. My son gave me an iPod Touch for Christmas and I recently discovered how to load apps. I loaded your a week ago and have used it to connect while on campus. I’m a graduate student in Cognitive Sciences at Univ of Central Florida (Orlando).

I would appreciate if you would post on your blog or somewhere the error codes and what they mean. I am a retired computer programmer (after 36 years of programming) and enjoy knowing what the codes mean even if there is nothing I can do about them other than retry to connect again.

Nice Icon too. For a new name how about HotTouch, Glommer, or WeeWiFiFinder, or some variation on those names. No charge for suggestions. LOL!

  2. WiFinder should live!!!!!! Says:

Any way I hope the NEW app gets put up (hopefully free, but I am willing to buy it) and gets a 4.5-5 star rating!!!!! Good luck!!!! (I look forward to seeing it soon!)
